In which Blake reviews CWA from 11/17…

My review from www.rikkiregal.com

“All or Nothing II”
At the York Rec Center.

There was no standing ovation from the crowd this time for Steve Corino. Other than the few people that I informed that this was indeed Corino’s last match in SC, no one knew. However, the fans were standing…in visible rage as Steve ran down their town, their spelling ability (Kirby TJ Nuber One!) and their family heritages. Memorable stuff!

Quick results:
Referee: Charles Richardson

1. Ultra J Champion Stoney Hooker won a three way against Michael Frehley and Caleb Konley in a non-title bout.

2. Mr Wrestling 3 & Shark Girl defeated Alllison Danger & Ares. Special guest referee Becky Bayless. Great tag match. Ares choked MW3 with an continuous suppply of neckties while Becky wasn’t looking, as the confiscation pile grew, Danger kept pullling more and more out of her camouflage two piece.

3. Champion Charlie Dreamer successfully defended his title against the current Zero-1 Max US Champion Ricky Landell. Good match for the CWA champ, who won with a flying high cross body.

4. Steve Corino defeated Derek Ryze. The up and coming Ryze had one of his best showings to date against Corino. An even trade between the two with Corino scoring a pinfall after a decapitating guillotine lariat.

5. Main Event: TLC – The Elite Icons (Jake Manning & Joey Silvia) with Ty Dillinger defeated Team Macktion (Kirby & TJ Mack) to win the Tag Team titles. Team Macktion has dominated the tag division in CWA since early 2007 (March I believe?), and the last few months they have been chased by the Elite Icons, and the diminutive Dillinger. Manning informed the crowd that TLC would mean “takedowns, leg-locks and chin-locks” as he and Silvia would have nothing to do with hardcore. They both put folding chairs in the ring and settled in when TMs theme began. TM took the non-traditional route into the ring by delvering a double salvo of flying drop-kicks to the back of the Icons. This began a wild brawl all over the Rec Center. All three of the match elements were used by both teams, resulting in broken chairs and a warped ladder. Walking ringside this truly looked more like a street-fight than a sporting event as the crowd surged closer and closer to witness the warfare. No man walked away uninjured, as even Dillinger was set up in a surfboard for the “terminator of tag-teams”; the “Death From Above.” In the end, though Manning was able to climb to the top and grab both belts. Kudos to both teams!

Tonight capped off a great weekend for CWA and independent wrestling. Fans in both towns were witness to great matches and pro-wrestling history.
