So I figured I need to catch up on some shows, yes?
CWA in York,SC on 18 August was a lot of fun. I can’t remember if I have already said that, but I had a great time. Was at ringside with Slamfest Bob and about half way through the show we were both rolling along with ER about…well, I can’t say, but it was really funny. Sorry for the tease. Great atmosphere that night, “T&T” are doing good.
Enjoyed the match with Michael Frehley vs. Kimo. I have shot Frehley since he was Michael Freshley in Greenville, and I can honestly say he is just as skinny and pale as he was then. I’m kidding…great guy who I wish the best of luck for…always humble and willing to do whatever.
The fans love seeing Daffney at the shows. I do too, she is a super nice lady. I read on the NWA Legends Fanfest messageboard that several were surprised that she was in attendance, wondering why she wasn’t advertised? Just goes to show you, you never know what is going to happen there!
The more I see Destiny (Manning/Silvia/Attitude/Dillinger) the more I like them. I didn’t get why a guy ran out and started boxing them at the end of their match. TJ Mack had a great match with Brad Attitude this night.
Lee Valiant and Derek Ryze make a good team. I think they need a few more matches together, but they seem to have the makings of a hot team for CWA. Positive vibes to Derek who is out with a back injury I hear.
Congrats to Charlie Dreamer for winning the CWA title from KC McKnight. Also congrats to Phill Shatter for claiming the Anarchy title in Georgia.
On Labor Day, I headed down to Chester,SC with ER for APW-Chester. I was happy to see some faces I had not seen in awhile; Brice & Keri, Yoshi (whose English is coming along quite well), James McHone, Mr & Mrs Doug Hawkins (who are always welcoming), Baja El Grande Jr, “Romeo” Mark Slain, Zack Salvation, Ostgard (who I talk to several times a week, but never get to see), Wicked, and Will Snapp. APWC held their Cruiserweight tournament this night, and the main event was Zack vs. Baja. Really good match.
Doug really fosters a family friendly environment at his shows – after the main event, the kids rushed the ring. Doug got on the house mic and declared: “All kids outta the ring! It’s a school night, get home!”
The party to whom we were going out to eat with after the show mysteriously disappered?
CWA-Pro Wrestling in Columbia,SC at the Jamil Temple was this past Thursday night (6 September). I joined Team Macktion on the trip down. CWA vs. TNA was the theme for the show. I was not on my “game” this night. At the beginning I was having some camera issues, and then I just never felt like I got into my “groove.” Not as big of a turnout that I believe they hoped for, but still great fans. Plus, I loaded up on change when I first got to the ring. Someone had dropped almost a dollar in assorted coinage in the ring and the mats, so I figured it was my tip.
This past Saturday I rode with Boomer, ER, Ken, and our Regal Board comrade, Stokes (good luck on your lovely holiday to Iraq!) to Gladiator Pro Wrestling’s “Debut of Destruction” at the Gastonia National Guard Armory. Good turn out I thought for the show. Yes, it was hotter than 40 hells in the building, but still a good time. “Playboy” Buddy Rose Jr was there, and kept me rolling for the entire show. Thanks to Tim and Chuck, and congrats guys. Remember “no stress…no stress.”
Coming up: Don’t forget the benefit show for Kirby Mack this coming Friday in Statesville. I will be flying up to Richmond, VA for Capital Punishment II for UWF on 21 September.
Looking forward to getting back to Anarchy hopefully in October. Speedy recovery to Chief Jay Eagle and his wife, Rhonda who were struck by a hit & run driver last weekend.
My friend Betty has finally joined the rest of the world online at MySpace – hi Betty!
Vacation is almost here…very ready, very ready!
