Monday road trip

Took off to visit a friend of ours in Scotland County,NC on Monday afternoon.  It’s a good three hour trip to get there, so I arrived close to 7.30.  From my limited viewing of the town – there is nothing there!  Except several little eating places (Golden Corral for supper), hotels and a Wal-Mart.

I was nearly involved in an accident on I85 right outside Spartanburg.  A ladder flew off a work truck and landed in the middle lane.

Riding for three hours by yourself really gives you an appreciation of the “packed” road trip.  I have become spoiled as far as travel goes.

Vanity plates seen:  A VOL FAN, 3M&M’S, 4SAUNA, IMPRINT, GALLOGAL

Every time I’m on 85, I pass by the Cox Rd exit where a certain pancake house sits.

I learned of a man that would fart into empty Pringles cans and collect them.

Passing through such towns at Anson, Wingate and Marshville I saw: The Feed my Lambs Ministry, the Aw Shucks Corn Maze, Wingate University, The Umbrella Factory, The Jesse Helms Center, the Pilgrims Pride plant, and did you know that Marshville, NC is the birthplace of Randy Travis?  I also saw the “Streets of Laredo” western wear store, where they sell ”Cowboy boots at cowboy prices”.  Ok.

Going to CWF in Burlington, NC on Saturday night.  Looking forward to that.

Also, I discovered a few days ago that a friend of mine uses printed out porn images as bookmarks…interesting…
