Ok…Ok

So the original “Lost Weekend” was some kind of Van Halen sort of thing? I don’t know, I didn’t keep up with the hair bands of the 80’s.

I have gotten a couple of emails asking about the “Lost Weekend”…don’t panic folks, it was just a couple of road trips.

Friday, Thomas, ER, Ostgard and myself heading toward to Statesville – and then Saturday was CWF in Burlington where Ostgard and Ken teamed (matching trunks even) with Cham Pain against Kirby, TJ and Xsiris.

“Team Simpson” was accompanied to ringside by ER and Ashley Walker. Quite a formidable looking group and one that worked superbly! We did not stay for the entire show, but this six man tag was a high point of the night-great work from everybody.

To everybody involved in the weekend, I had a really great time – I was tired, I spent a lot of money, but I would not trade any of it.

I’m ready to cut up my Exxon card and mail it back to them, they don’t need my money.

My pussy cat is back on Prozac.

I’m off work the next two days…I will probably not go anywhere.

My favorite co-worker Yeti Hunter is going to have surgery on his knee next month and will be out for six weeks.

I’m going to end this with some quotes:

Because you are in control of your life. Don’t ever forget that. You are what you are because of the conscious and subconscious choices you have made. – Barbara Hall

No matter how nice the company one might be with, however, it is never pleasant to have a rifle pointed at ones back. – Meg Cabot

Genius, geniuses everywhere I turn! If only there was some talent! – Henri Bernstein, French playwright

The problem with people who have no vices is that they’re pretty sure to have some annoying virtues – Elizabeth Taylor

There is no downside to winning. It feels forever fabulous – Pat Conroy

Everything I did in my life that was worthwhile I caught Hell for – Earl Warren

A man can’t ride your back unless it’s bent – Martin Luther King Jr.

It isn’t what they say about you, it’s what they whisper – Errol Flynn

The end of…

a long weekend…but one of the most fun I have had. Saw the movie “Silent Hill” – visually very satisfying, but by the last 45 minutes of it, we were just ripping on it. Went to J&R’s or is it JR’s? Bought some cologne for a good price. Took part in the “Lost Weekend with Thomas Simpson”. Enjoyed a steak and a shake at “Steak & Shake”. I witnessed fires rekindled and dreams smashed. Spent a butt load of money on gas! Got a flat tire on I85 about a mile from our exit in Spartanburg at 3am! Thanks again to ER for the help in changing that, I still owe you a meal. Also, ER’s buggy got broke into this weekend, bad bad. Saw a full moon on the way home from Burlington.

Here is an excerpt from the book I am reading: “Perfume, The Story of a Murderer” by Patrick Suskind. If you want more info on it, look it up. Basically it’s about a man who is born that emits no smell whatsoever. He does though have an incredible sense of it, and can actually break down smells into their individual parts. It is based in 18th century Paris and the following describes the conditions of the day:

(Before you begin, there is a group of friends who will understand why I posted this – I just thought it was funny to come across this.)

“People stank of sweat and unwashed clothes; from their mouths came the stench of rotting teeth, from their bellies that of onions, and from their bodies, if the were no longer very young, came the stench of rancid cheese and sour milk and tumorous disease. The rivers stank, the marketplaces stank, the churches stank, it stank beneath the bridges and in the palaces. The peasant stank as did the priest, the apprentice as did his master’s wife, the whole of the aristocracy stank, even the king himself stank, stank like a rank lion, and the queen like an old goat, summer and winter.”

I was planning on going to the EWA show in Mooresville tonight, but with the gas situation and plus a late family dinner I was not able to go, sorry folks I will try to make the next one though!

Sunday evening

I have had a really good weekend…had fun at HVW Friday night especially with the the newly named “DJ Ray & the Balcony Boys”. I was in the dressing room when I heard the very familiar opening to “The Price is Right”. Thanks fellers.

Man, it was hot in the building Friday night, and I mean temperature wise. ER and I joined Law and Sabrina afterwards for some fruity drinks and table top trivia – where we tested each other on trivial pursuit.

Saturday was WWC in Greenville for “Saturday Night Live”. What a great show. They had a rabid crowd and a surprise in the split of the “Old School Quad” – which was a interesting twist. Kudos to everybody involved.

Afterwards, a quick bite to eat and a Sith get together…muwhahaahah!

Monday watching CNN at work

So tired…I have about a half hour to go before I can leave work…HVW is tomorrow night in Hendersonville, I’m off work so I should be there early…WWC on Saturday in Greenville…It will be good to get back down the the Main Event Arena, it has been at least a couple of months since I have been!

If you have been to the HVW site, you know that Adam has been kicked out of the promotion. I have always said that as long as boys get to stay at a promotion, so will I.

Had a great weekend, even though I had to work. Thursday, ER and I traveled to Mooresville for the EWA “Why Jr Why?” show. I always have a good time at George’s shows. The ending of this show was particularly interesting as we got to see the end of the match twice. Funny and not funny at the same time. Below is my exclusive neck pass from the “Boogie Woogie Front Yard Tour”. Yes, soak it in ER!

Friday was HVW in Hendersonville. It was the “Lethal Lottery” for the HVW tag titles. I’ll be back at HVW this Friday, and I understand that our favorite wrestler, Ostgard will be making his return there. Saturday I will be going to WWC in Greenville.

I had the scanner out this afternoon, so here are a couple of “plugs”:

Our buddy, DJ Ray – the best sound man around!

Now to clarify, I do not live in Tryon, I just work there. This sammich shop is within walking distance and they are great. Plus, I really like the tag line at the top.

Gotta go, time for “Deal or No Deal”!
